Privacy Policy

The short version

Guideline Atlas is a free reference tool. You can read every page without an account. If you create one, we collect the few details needed to run it — your email, and the role, specialty and region you enter during onboarding. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing email.

Who is responsible

Guideline Atlas is operated by its founder as an independent project. For any privacy question or request, contact worldwidehealthventure@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Account details. Your email address, an optional display name, and — if you sign up with a password rather than Google — a securely hashed password. We never store your password itself.
• Google sign-in. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, basic profile name, and Google’s account identifier. We do not receive your Google password, contacts, or any other Google data.
• Onboarding details. Whether you are a working professional or a student, your clinical specialty, and your region of practice. These tailor the product and help us understand who it serves.
• Usage. When signed in, we record which pages you view and when, so we can see which content is useful and whether people return.
• Your saved items. Bookmarks and the conditions you mark as studied.
• Feedback. If you submit the feedback form, we store your message and any name or email you choose to include.
• Sign-in security records. Failed login attempts (by email address) and the network address used when accounts are created, to limit abuse. These are used only to rate-limit sign-ups and sign-ins.

Why we are allowed to process it

For visitors in the UK, EU and other regions with similar law: we rely on performance of a contract to operate your account and deliver the service; on our legitimate interests to keep the service secure and to understand which content is used; and on your consent where you have given it, which you may withdraw at any time by deleting your account.

Cookies

We set one cookie, and only after you sign in: an essential session cookie that keeps you logged in. It contains a random token, not your personal details. We use no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and no cross-site analytics.

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of providers purely to run the service:

• Supabase — database hosting, which stores the data described above.
• Vercel — application hosting, which processes standard web request logs.
• Resend — delivers feedback messages to us by email.
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

If Guideline Atlas is sold or transferred

If the project is acquired by, merged with, or its assets transferred to another organisation, account information may transfer as part of that transaction. If that happens, we will notify registered users by email beforehand where practicable, and the receiving organisation will remain bound by this policy until it gives you notice of any change. Personal information will not be sold as a standalone product or as a marketing list.

Where data is stored, and for how long

Data is stored on servers operated by the providers above, which may be located outside your country, including in the United States. We keep account information for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and we delete your account record, bookmarks, study progress and visit history. Rate-limiting records are short-lived. Feedback messages are kept so we can act on them.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email worldwidehealthventure@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Guideline Atlas is intended for healthcare professionals and students, and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy materially, we will publish the new version here and ask you to accept it the next time you sign in.
